16.11.2011 NEW ALBUM ON THE WAY + LINE-UP CHANGES

We have now started recording the third, still unnamed album. Last weekend we nailed the drums, and will continue the recordings soon.

Alas, we also have to report that Matti Reinola decided to leave the band due to lack of motivation. No great drama was involved.

Gladly we found a great new bassist, Jussi Kirves, soon after.

26.8. 2010 ANOTHER CHANGE IN LINE-UP

After the spring gigs, Janne announced his decicion to part ways with Hanging Garden. The band would like to thank him for the great work and company he provided the band with during the past years.

Via common friends Antti Ruokola was found to fill the void left by Janne, and his groove and tasty playing-style fit the band's music perfectly!

30.3. 2010 NEW THE CHANT - ALBUM!

Our guitarist Jussi's other band THE CHANT is releasing a new album, "This Is The World We Know", on 14.4.2010. The album contains 9 songs of atmospheric and melancholic rock. There are two new songs from the album available at myspace.

7.3. 2010 A CHANGE IN LINEUP.

Vocalist Ari and Hanging Garden have parted ways on January. Luckily we managed to find a fill-in for the gigs we had only in 2 weeks time. The guy is called Toni Toivonen, and he is also the vocalist of another finnish band called Amarantine.

We already enforced our ranks a couple of months earlier with keyboard player Nino Hynninen, who also plays in Amarantine. So as you might have guessed, he's the one who introduced Toni to us.

Toni had already convinced us in the rehearsals with his great vocal skills, and since the vibes inside the band and feedback from the audience of those gigs were both great, we decided to recruit Toni as a permanent member without longer hesitation. So below is the current HG-lineup.

Jussi Hämäläinen: Guitars, Vocals
Matti Reinola: Bass
Nino Hynninen: Keyboards
Janne Jukarainen: Drums

Here's Aris statement in finnish. (shortly in english, he didn't feel comfortable being in the band, nor being able to give his 100% to his involvement in the band any longer.

”Elämässä tulee hetkiä, jolloin pitää oikeasti pysähtyä ja miettiä mitä oikeasti haluaa, milloin ja miten. Bändirintamalla olen jo pidempään miettinyt miten paljon pystyn antamaan itsestäni tällä hetkellä bändeilleni. Suurimmat syyt lähtööni olivat siis lähinnä se, että olen priorisoinut asioitani niin, että en voi antaa tällä hetkellä 100-prosenttista panostustani bändiin ja ajatusmaailmallisesti olemme bändissä ajautuneet siihen tilaan, että en voisi jatkaa myöskään siksi. Eli siis turha roikkua "kivenä kengässä" tai pakottaa ketään ajattelemaan samoin kuin itse. Silloin on parempi poistua ja tehdä asiat uudestaan jotenkin muuten. Musiikkitouhuja en ole jättämässä missään nimessä ja varmasti vielä jossain muodossa aion sitä tehdä. Se jää nähtäväksi sitten kun on sen aika. Toivotan bändin jäsenille onnea ja menestystä ja kiitän monista niistä kivoista hetkistä, joita meillä oli. Ja tietysti iso kiitos myös Sami Tenezille ja meidän uskollisille faneille, jotka meidän levyjä ostivat/ostavat ja keikoilla kävivät ja käyvät!”
